Rising star Brendan Pelley brings a wealth of experience (and genetic kinship) to the kitchen at Michael Schlow’s Greek-inspired Back Bay restaurant, Doretta Taverna and Raw Bar. Pelley’s Greek heritage, deep understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, and his innovative style will bring a new added dimension to the popular Park Square spot.

Known most recently for his successful year-long run of Greek pop-up Pelekasis at Wink & Nod, Pelley has become a fan favorite in Boston. The young chef has stacked up accolades like 2016 Rising Star by Improper Bostonian, as well as Boston Magazine Best Restaurant awards for both Pelekasis and Zebra’s Bistro. He even landed himself a coveted spot as featured chef at the James Beard House and competed on FOX television’s 14th season of Hell’s Kitchen.

As the Chef de Cuisine at Doretta, Pelley is excited to add his own touches to the menu. “With Doretta, I’ve really found the perfect stage for my cooking…a beautiful space and perfect location, a passionate and excited service staff, an amazing kitchen and the support and guidance of a world-renowned chef in Michael.
